The CEO of eTranzact Ghana, Dr. John Apea, has urged fintech companies in Ghana to work together to strengthen the industry. In an interview with Building Bytes, Dr. Apea emphasized the need for fintech leaders to unite, support each other, and advocate for fair treatment.
“Right now, everyone is focused on their own business, trying to compete. But we need to come together. If one of us is not treated fairly, we should stand up for each other,” Dr. Apea said. He believes that by working together, fintech companies can help grow Ghana’s digital economy and compete better on the global stage.
Dr. Apea praised initiatives like the Ghana Fintech Awards, which bring industry players together and encourage collaboration. “There is enough opportunity for everyone. We need to share ideas, support each other, and build a stronger fintech ecosystem,” he added.
As one of Africa’s fintech pioneers, eTranzact Ghana continues to focus on blockchain technology and strategic partnerships to drive innovation. Dr. Apea revealed that the company is exploring new markets and is preparing to launch an accelerator program to support young fintech entrepreneurs.
In a major step toward fostering innovation, eTranzact is partnering with Npontu to launch this accelerator program. “This is about creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs, especially in underserved areas. When we partner with others, we can build better solutions and make a bigger impact,” Dr. Apea explained.
With Ghana’s fintech industry rapidly growing, Dr. Apea’s call for unity highlights the need for businesses to work together to overcome challenges, push for fair regulations, and ensure sustainable growth.
