Accra, Ghana – October 17, 2025
In a decisive step to shape the future of Ghana’s technology workforce, fintech pioneer eTranzact Ghana Limited has entered into a strategic five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Education, Winneba (UEW) that firmly positions the company as a driving force behind the next generation of ICT professionals.
Under the agreement signed on Thursday, 16 October 2025 at the University’s Council Chamber, eTranzact commits to a multi-faceted programme of support—going well beyond traditional corporate social responsibility to actively co-design and implement educational pathways in fintech and mobile technology.

Key highlights of the partnership include:
- A GH₵10,000 endowment over five years for the Best Overall ICT Education student at UEW (GH₵2,000 per year starting 2025/26).
- Full backing from eTranzact in five strategic areas: industrial training & development, internship / national service placements, sponsorship of a professorial chair, targeted support for female students in technology, and creation of an on-campus incubation hub.
- Direct industry training in mobile technology development and electronic transactions, giving students real-world exposure to the systems that eTranzact already powers for Ghanaian banks.
- Internship pipelines via eTranzact’s “EduXcelerate” programme, enabling high-performing final-level ICT Education students to serve at eTranzact and potentially transition into national service or full-time employment.
In his remarks at the ceremony, UEW Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual emphasised that this partnership addresses a long-standing challenge in higher education: translating theoretical knowledge into work-ready, industry-embedded skills. He applauded eTranzact’s “forward-looking” approach and called for the initiative to deliver tangible outcomes, not just remain a document on paper.
On the eTranzact side, Board Chairman Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong Manso reaffirmed the company’s status as a home-grown technology leader, noting that eTranzact has served as the digital banking systems backbone for 14 major Ghanaian banks. He said:

“We want to strengthen this relationship to make UEW a centre of cutting-edge ICT education and to produce versatile graduates who can integrate technology in whatever they do.”
For the Department of ICT Education at UEW, the partnership marks a milestone. Head of Department Prof. Delali Kwasi Dake described it as the culmination of long-term discussions with eTranzact, highlighting the internship and mentorship streams, the professorial chair, and the planned incubation hub as game-changers.
As Ghana’s technology ecosystem accelerates, fuelled by artificial intelligence, digital finance and mobile innovation, eTranzact’s proactive investments in education position it not just as a service provider but as an architect of Ghana’s tech talent pipeline. The company is placing itself at the nexus of industry and academia, ensuring that students are not only employed but empowered to shape the digital economy.
